Week 1: Brother Mo
Isaiah 40 vs. 31 ; NIV
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
His Story: I use this verse to motivate me in trusting the Lord, to be patient and as I wait on Him I grow stronger in my faith, my hope. I use it as I'm waiting for the Lord to come back
Week 2: Sister Alex
Matthew 6 vs. 33 ; NCV
"Seek first God's Kingdom and what God wants. Than all your other needs will be met as well."
My Story:
Seek God's Kingdom? It's always baffled me. But this video and a couple of preaches helped me understand. It's about making God the priority through it all. Especially in the hard times. You all may or may not know but I've been under-employed for some time. And let me tell you, I haven't been nice, sweet and patient in my pleas to God. I'd get angry, I'd get jealous, I'd feel like less than the dirt under people's feet at times. But I kept (and still keep) looking to God. I'd backslide and doubt would creep in but somehow or other God would redirect me to Him: through a song, some kind words, an email.
Just the other day I had an interview (3 people interviewing me in the same room mind you) and it was a personal fast day for me. So as I broke my fast and hid out in the bathroom trying to get myself together something just told me to focus on God, don't worry: if I get this position I get it and praise God, but if it's yet again another no, whatever God's got all lined up for me will be in accordance to His will and will help me honor Him. And above all, praise Him anyway.
Let's just say that was one of the smoothest interviews I've ever had.
We'll see about the the job outcome but I can definitely thank God I got through those 1st hard steps
Problems will keep coming, things might get even worse as time goes on but remember
Matthew 6 vs. 33: Seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things (and you can list those things) will be given to you.
So I dare you to try.
